Terms of Service

Last updated: July 2026. 1. What Snupi is Snupi connects dog owners with dog sitters and daycares in Portugal. Snupi does not provide care directly, it facilitates contact and booking. 2. Accounts An account is required to book or offer services. You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for the accuracy of your data. 3. Bookings & payment Bookings are requests the sitter accepts or declines. At this stage, payment is made securely by card through Stripe, a licensed payment service provider, when you book; Snupi does not hold client funds. The money is only transferred to the sitter after the stay is completed; if the sitter declines, you are refunded in full. Snupi charges a service fee, shown before confirmation. 4. Cancellations and refunds Unless the parties agree otherwise on the platform: • Cancellation by the owner up to 48 hours before check-in: full refund. • Cancellation by the owner less than 48 hours before: 50% of the service amount refunded. • No-show or cancellation on the check-in day: no refund of the service amount. • Cancellation by the sitter at any time: full refund to the owner. Repeated sitter cancellations may lead to suspension. The Snupi service fee may be non-refundable on late cancellations. We always show the refund amount before processing. Under article 17(1)(k) of Decree-Law 24/2014, there is no 14-day withdrawal right for services with a specific execution date or period, such as Snupi bookings; the cancellation rules above apply. By booking a service that starts within 14 days, you expressly request performance within that period. 5. Liability and disclosure duties During the service, the sitter assumes supervision of the dog (article 493 of the Portuguese Civil Code). The owner must give complete and correct information about the dog: behaviour, health, fears and bite history. Omitted or incorrect information excludes the Snupi Guarantee and may make the owner liable. At checkout, the owner authorises urgent veterinary care up to the stated amount if unreachable. Snupi verifies sitter identity but cannot guarantee the outcome of each booking. We recommend a Meet & Greet before the first stay. 5-A. Potentially dangerous breeds Booking services for dogs of breeds classified as potentially dangerous is not allowed (Portaria 422/2004: Fila Brasileiro, Dogo Argentino, Pit Bull Terrier, Rottweiler, American Staffordshire Terrier, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Tosa Inu and crosses of these breeds). The law (Decree-Law 315/2009) requires a dedicated licence, certified training and liability insurance, which Snupi cannot verify yet. 5-B. Snupi Guarantee The Snupi Guarantee is a voluntary, discretionary reimbursement programme: veterinary costs up to €1,500 and property damage up to €500 per booking, subject to the conditions published at snupi.pt/garantia. It is not an insurance policy. 6. Conduct No illegal use, false information, or bypassing Snupi to avoid applicable fees. 6-A. Sitters: status and tax obligations Sitters act as independent providers: they set their own prices, freely accept or decline requests, and have no exclusivity or schedules imposed by Snupi. Each sitter is responsible for their own tax obligations (registered activity, receipts and NIF). Under Law 36/2023 (DAC7), Snupi reports sitters’ platform income to the Portuguese Tax Authority annually. 7. Reviews Only those who completed a booking can review. We may remove abusive content. 8. Closing your account You can close your account anytime by contacting us. 9. Governing law Portuguese law. Jurisdiction: courts of Portugal. Contact: ola@snupi.pt.
